Seat belt retractor fixable?

Just found out the seat belt retractor on the passenger side of my new to me 03 TJ is broken. The round thingy on the end is broken open. Looks like $65 on ebay to repair or replace with a used one.. Any options before I pull that trugger?

One thing I wouldn't buy used is the seat belt or latch. Your life depends on the system to work properly. Atleast, that's my feelings.

X2 unless you don't care for your passenger.

Ditto "used" airbags.

Since I bought it for my GF, I would be the passenger...

Now I am eyeing up the rear seatbelts that will never be used... Wonder if I can swap out whatever is missing with one of them.......
