After owning my dream Jeep for the past 9 years, I'm ready to move on. My decision is based mostly on having two little kids and never using the CJ anymore. I can't take my kids in the CJ as there is no back seat and no safe way to set it up to accept car seats in the back, hence, it sits in the garage most of the year.
My firs Jeep was a 1994 Wrangler that I purchased new and had a ton of fun in. As of late, I've been thinking more and more of getting a TJ as I would be able to take my kids with me and use it as a 3rd vehicle for our family. I'm starting to get pretty excited at the prospect of owning a modern Jeep once again that I can drive moderately comfortably year round.
That being said, I've got to sell my CJ before I buy the TJ or my wife would would not be happy if I had both. I haven't got a clue as to what it's worth so any advice would be much appreciated. It's a 1974 CJ5 with a full fiberglass body. It's got a rebuilt 304ci 8 cylinder AMC motor. It's got dual exhaust. The tires are 34" x 9.5" Super Swampers. It's got a suspension lift and a body lift. The guages are alll after market Auto Meter Pro Comp series. She gets up and goes pretty well as the power to weight ratio is good, however, like all old Jeeps, she handles like crap and is a bit scary to drive over 50 mph. She's got a 3 speed manual transmission.
I was considering listing it on eBay with a high reserve just to gauge what people might pay and then list it on Craigslist. Does anyone have any other advice?
The pics are a few years old but she pretty much looks the same.
