shaking shifter

everytime i start off, my transmition shakes from under me and and the shifter shakes in side the car. The transmition mount is good and motor mounts are good. I havent really looked at it yet, but i kind of want a head start at what to look for when i do. any ideas??

A side-to-side shifter shake when starting out normally indicates a broken motor mount. Engine torque lifts the engine up off the broken mount side causing the shifter to shift sideways. I know you said you checked the mount but I'd double-check it. It's not always easily visible as happened to me when one of the welds on a Currie mount broke.

Mine also does this and I was told it had something to do with my flywheel. If your motor mounts are ok then I think this maybe what you have.

Whoever made that suggestion to you was clueless.
