Shifter

Hello All,

Today I was looking at my shifter knob and noticed it is all worn down to where you can't see the gear number. So....I was thinking that it would be a good thread to see pictures of creative shifter knob replacements.

Lets see what you got!

mine is the bottom part of a stock handle without the outer wrapping, the plastic lid from a gumball machine toy dispenser thing, all wrapped in electrical tape.

That is a downside to having an auto, you just don't get the cool shifter options you get with the manual.....

I'm shopping for a replacement too, so I can't say I've "got" one - But here are two links I found interesting on the subject.

First, this place and their shifters rule:

Home Page for Hot Rod Shift Knob

Second, a handy walkthrough for replacing the rubber accordion:

DailyDrivenTJ-New Shifter Boot

The second link is an important piece to me because the accordion affects my shifting post-body-lift so I cut it off. Planning on grabbing a white knob with the shift pattern on it from HRSN and then probably do the "leather" boot hack.

On the other hand, a friend suggested I find a way to use a black bandana as a boot. May end up doing that if I can figure out a reasonably easy way to.

Good shopping.
