shifter boot

what is the part that holds boot to console mines missing looks like crap and boot is all over place when shifting

It's called the "shift boot bezel" be sure you get one for a stick, the auto's are also called a shift bezel, but are different.

I broke mine a while ago and have been without. I keep forgetting to replace it, and when I do remember I try to jimmy-rig it to no avail. I feel your pain

I went to Autozone and got a Universal vinyl black "pleather" shift boot for about 10 bucks. It looks much nicer than the acordian OEM type.

x2..Getting rid of the thick factory boot for a much thinner pleather one from pepboys made a world of difference shifting-wise after my 1.25" BL. I also had the same issues and drove me nuts until I took a box cutter to it. It even matches my Jeeps black/red color scheme:
