Shifter sticking

What are some of the first things you would check to fix this:

My shifter is sticking in 2nd, but only sometimes, more often after it's been driven for a while than when it is cool.

Very annoying. Thanks!

i wonder if this is happening to me too. cause when i do short trips on the high way i can pass cars pretty good, but then after awhile like over 40 minutes it seems i loose alot of power. i mean it just takes forever to get pass and speed up.

Mines not a power issue. I just literally cannot get it out of second without either waiting several seconds and trying again or just hitting it pretty hard.

I'd take the transmission apart and fix whatever it is. I've had transmissions that would jump out of second, but never had one hang up in a gear. Good luck.

After the engine gets hot you will always lose power. Thats why at the drag strip, the drivers never run their cars before hand.

Bump.

My trans sticks in second sometime too. It's the NV3550. When shifting out of second I really need to shove it... or double clutch it. Only sometimes and only when leaving second. Any ideas?

That can't be good. I might have a trans shop look at it and get their opinion.

My NV3550 was grinding from 1st to 2nd, and sometimes hard to pull out of 3rd. I changed the transmission oil to Royal Purple Synchromax and it shifts great now.

RP synchromax is good juice. All my manual transmissions have it in there.

Quick, easy, and cheap. This shall be my first attempt. After new tires, that it

Changed to royal purple synchromax a couple weeks ago. It shifts great, doesn't get stuck in 2nd anymore, and chatters less at low revs! I hope the OP sees this
