Thumbs down Shipping costs for buying...

anything related to my Jeep are freakin' ridiculous! Quadratec, Morris, the dealers on Amazon all screw you with the shipping. Most want to charge shipping based on the total cost of the order. What kind of crap is that?

Just as an example, if I want a speedo gear that weighs 1/2 ounce but costs $75, they still want to charge almost $20 for shipping. It doesn't cost $20 to ship a speedometer gear no matter how it's packaged & shipped unless it's packaged in a lead box.

Does anyone know of a dealer who is honest with the shipping charges?

4wheelparts offers free shipping specials but you just have to keep your eye open for the deal.

EDIT: Like right now!

Northridge 4x4 offers free shipping alot of times too. Usually you have to spend over a certain amount to qualify for a free shipping order.

Quadratec has always based the shipping costs on the sale total...kind of lame but works out sometimes depending on what your order is.

4wheel parts will ship for free if you can pick it up at one of their stores. I try to use this as much as possible.

Yeah it sucks if you really need something now, but usually if you are patient they have free shipping deals from time to time so shop around.
It is funny as I just got an email from Ebay saying they are including the shipping value in the final value fees so it would encourage sellers to keep shipping fees lower. Is that their true mission or is just a few more dollars to charge for and add more money in their pockets?
