Shocks - - stock

Got a 97 TJ sahara - need to replace the shocks and not planning on adding any lift (as my son (17) may decided he wants to drive it ), so I want to stay "stock".

Need to know what brand of shock you reccomend? And -Once I've changed out the shocks do I need to re-align the tires??

Thanks for your input.

Bilsteins or Rancho rs9000 are the most common liked here. I just put on the Rs5000 and they ride a litter stiffer but better than what I had 

Since you are staying stock for now and probably don't see any need to spend extra $$$ for high-end shocks at this point, I'd just go buy some Monroe hydraulic shocks. Monroe makes most of the shocks commonly sold by companies like Skyjacker, Rancho, Rubicon Express, etc. so their quality is very good.

You will not need to have your front-end realigned after installing new shocks.

If you are just replacing the factory shocks because they are worn out, will you ever need to change the factory springs? Most people change them because of lifts, etc. But can they wear out like the shock eventually?

I have a 2 inch spacer lift with stock springs. They seem to be holding up well with over 150,000 on them.

I installed Skyjacker Hydro 7000's. Like them alot. I don't have a lift on my Jeep. I found them for about $70 each.
