Should i buy a tj with or without a lift kit?

I just sold my yj and am looking for a tj for sale, I liked my yj but I'm looking for something newer. I'm looking to spend around 4500/5000$ on one. I live in British Columbia Canada, I was wondering if it's best to buy a jeep without a lift in it and then save up for a lift and do it myself(pay a mechanic to do it), or buy a jeep that already has a lift kit put in it. I am just worried about rust, and I want a reliable vehicle! But I love the look of a jeep with a little lift. But I don't want one that has been thrashed around! Please let me know ! And if you're in British Columbia, Canada and you're selling a jeep tj for around that price let me know! thank you!

I don't think a lift really adds to a jeeps value unless it's a very high quality lift. At least that's what I've noticed in my area anyways. I bought mine with a 4 inch procomp stage 1 lift and didn't pay over KBB for it.

Then best to buy one without a lift, and install your own.

^+1....$5000 for a TJ does not buy you much and if you do find one at that price that has been modified with a lift kit then odds are that TJ is going to be a horrible driver.

imo, best to get a stock Wrangler and supervise the modifications.
