Should I buy this top? I'm hearing the dueling voices!

I have a guy that wants to sell me a tonneau, windbreaker, bikini top setup new for 145 shipped. Should I do it? When you put one on, does it leak a lot? If anyone has one and wants to give me the goods and the bads, I would appreciate it. Also, if u bought one would you do it again?

If it's the bikini and windbreak vs. the half top then it will not be watertight. The half top is much more watertight. It's still a great look and that seems like a good price, but be aware of the pitfalls...

IMO I don't like them, the seats have to be straight up when the windbreaker is on and is very uncomfortable for me.
The windbreaker wraps around the side rollbars, so sit it the jeep and put your seat straight up inside where the windbreaker would be in front of the rollbars ?? Don't like em!!

I have a soft top but I thought maybe these would be better for summer. What do you all like for summer other than just topless/doorless. I went topless/doorless to lowes and felt very uncomfortable walking away from my Jeep. I was just looking for something to cover up all my stuff and at least put some barrier, however thin it may be, between my stuff and dirt bags. It seems like it would be a pita to put the soft top up and down every time i want to go somewhere and zip the windows in then out...

If they want it they will take it.

why don't you look into one of those locking center consoles or trunks?

I've been lucky and never have had anything stolen. everything is hidden from view.

They would have to buy a good one, I tried one with my yj way back, and a bird would sh*t and set it off.

I have all 3 pieces and honestly NO I would not buy them. They are not air/water tight and basiclly a pain to put on. As far as security these items are not going to help at all. The best thing you can do is not leave anything of value visible in your jeep. I think that you would be much better off buying a trail cover. It goes on in seconds, fits tight and would be as much of a diversion to thieves as your soft top. I leave my Jeep parked topless and doorless at work everyday and have never had a problem. (knock on wood). At least with the cover, if someone does decide to take a look inside, they won't be cutting my soft top windows to do so.

Ok, thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm gonna take a pass on that top then. I have a locking center console so I can fit stuff of value in there but I have a radio that doesnt have the thing where you can take the face off and i really cant do anything about it lol. Thats my only concern. Maybe I could put like a cage on the back of the jeep...How much you think a pet tiger costs?

A lot more than a trail cover! Not to mention the insurance. Take that money and buy the cover. It will keep the honest people honest and unfortunately there is nothing you can do about the dishonest ones.

In my case I have $2000 in stereo equipment that's camouflaged I guess, I think people think "why would anybody have expensive stuff in a wide open jeep" they don't bother. thieves go after the beat up Honda with "alpine" and "got base" stickers stuck to there windows along with the fake blinking alarm light on the dash. advertising I call it lol..
