I have 03 TJ. Need put new 33 tires on. Whats the difference between 1050 and 1250 when you drive it? I know one is wider Which one gonna gives you better mileage on gas? What you guys put on you jeep?
10.5's will give you better gas mileage than 12.5's, but stock tires give you the best mileage of all. It's really more a matter of use and then preference, what do you use your Jeep for, if you like mud, then skinny tires work better, if you like crawling, wider is better, if you like fuel mileage, go back to stock or get a DD like a little car that is made to get some kind of mileage.
You will probably need to re-gear since you are going with 33's. I had 3.07's then went to 4.56's. With these gears you will be close to factory. Depends on 4 or 6 cyl. or auto/ 5-speed..... I have 98 TJ, 4.0 and 5 speed.
Love my 33x10.50s.
Planning a new set for later this year; the ones I put on in 2007 are getting pretty well worn.
If you go with the 10.50 wide, consider a 7" wide wheel vs. an 8" wide wheel if you intend to air down for trails/offroad.
