Should I hate my Jeep??

Before I joined this forum, I was happy. I had a Jeep and liked it alot. I just spent a couple of grand on it, diamondplate, KC lights, hard top, half doors for summer, LED taillights. Then I found out, after reading threads in this forum, that there are different rear ends in a Jeep. I figured I had 44s but just for the hell of it, I put it up on my lift this morning and found out that I have 35s!! I am devastated beyond belief. I wouldn't be more disapointed than if I found my wife in bed with a Toyota salesman. My question is, now that I know that I don't have a real he-man Jeep with 44 rears, should I hate it? I'm thinking of trading it on a four-runner. Looking for a grief counselor.

Holy ****, where's the Tylanol?

Nothing has changed so you shouldn't be unhappy. Where in MD are you? Don't worry I'm not a Toyota salesman.

Funny post.

You're doomed. From now on when you drive, it's going to feel like your backend is weak. Like you're in need of assistance.

Time to buy a new rear axle. Reinforced tube. 38 splines chrome-moly, D60. You want all the other Jeeps to feel weak.

Or not. What the hell do I know.

It's not as if your Jeep snuck out while you were at work and traded her 44 for a 35. She's still the same Jeep that you have grown to love since the day you bought her. It's not her fault! Just love her for who she is and she will take good care or you (and your wallet)

rubicon's and some special editions have the 44's, but most tj's come with 35's in the rear. what kind of wheeling do you do; how much lift do you want; what size tires do you plan on running? the answer to these questions will determine whether the d35 will be enough for you. the 35's are not as strong as the 44's, but they are not as bad as everyone makes them seem. if you put 35"+ tires and stomp on the gas, then yes, you will annihilate it; if you are easy on the skinny pedal and pay attention to what you are doing when wheeling and keep the wheels from hopping you should be ok. i know guys that wheel the crap out of their 35's on 35" tires, and they do fine; i also know guys who have busted their 44's because they were all gas and no brains. if you want to keep the jeep, you can save your $$$ and get a 44, 8.8, etc for it.

OP, if you found out your wifes bust size was mis-represented (you found out they were fake after you married her) would you want to trade her in? Of course not. Remember, it's what's inside that counts.

Now regarding your axles, forget the "it's what's inside" part.

I bought mine a couple weeks ago and after reading and seeing the pics on here, I made my wife go out and take a pic of mine and send it to me yesterday so I would know what my TJ had since I am out of state. I got the 44 . I got lucky this time, but normally would have luck like yourself. Now just see if you can break that 35, when things break it is an excuse to upgrade .

Plenty of guys use the D35 off-road with no problems. Like said above, you only need to worry if you want to run 35" tires and beat the crap out of it... Also, your D35 will go a hell of a lot more places off-road than a IFS toyota will.

then there are a lot of choices available
just need a good sized budget to spend

You should definitely hate your Jeep.

I recommend giving it to me so I can punish it.

11 is better than 10 . . . . . so 44 is better than 35
