Should I lift?

I've spent the last 2 months deciding whether or not to lift my (2 month old) '02 TJ X, reading thousands of threads on Pros & Cons - now I may only have 2 days left to decide. The local 4 Wheel Parts shop has recommended ProComp 4" suspension and they're offering FREE installation (up to $500) for the next 2 days!

I use the TJ 4 months out of the year on a ranch in East Texas where it gets muddy and there's STEEP creek crossings and 8 months it's on the highway as a backup / weekend vehicle. I don't really need the lift for the ranch and don't plan to put tires over 33's on her (I don't want to change axle/gears) but it sure looks good 4" higher! Will a professionally installed 4" Pro Comp negatively affect my highway ride and is it worth it?

You can go over to and read reviews of Pro Comp. I know from posts, that the springs in general people like but the shock are very unliked. They are very hard.

To run 33's you only need 3" of lift. You can get a 2 - 2.5" lift and a 1" body lift a lot cheaper (installation is very easy yourself with basic tools) Low cost Rough Contry has a 2.5 that a lot of people use. If you want better look at BDS or another step up is Old Man Emu.
