I have a white TJ and I'm going to either beeline or paint the grill black. I had a white JK that had bed liner on it and I'd I knew exactly what kind it was I'd do it again

Well I'll be honest. I really have no idea what I want to do. I like the looks of the black grills a lot, but at the same time I like the looks of the plain white grill.

I think I'll just paint the fenders and go from there.

I dig black grills, especially on white Jeeps man.

Heres a picture of mine for some more reference, if it helps anymore.

Krylon Fusion flat black is my favorite paint these days, has a great finish to it.

Dabolt55 - Where did you find an overlay? I bought a used LJ and one of the previous owners put the chrome overlay over the stock grill.

The problem is I want all black, so I pulled the chrome one off. Only to find a lot of rust on the grill. I would prefer not dropping $400 on a new one from salvage/MOPAR or paying to have the whole thing repainted....

And I am on the fence about covering it in liner. So I am trying to find something to cover the rust for the time being until I figure out what to do.

You may have already fixed this by now, but when I read this I thought: plastidip plastidip plastidip. Just spray it on and peel it off when you're ready.

Plastidip, it's removable if I didn't like it. It's held up for several months now, I'm starting to think about monstalining my floor though and if I do I will probably put it on the grille... turns out that I like it black.

Love the look of a blacked out grill, esp on a white jeep. Did mine with Rustoleum bedliner about. 2-3 weeks ago and IMO it looks good. Did a tape off and spray btw.
