Someone commented in a different thread that mounting a shovel in this location would stress and break the support rods. I've had mine mounted like cavediverjc's for quite a while now, and never had any issues.

Just picked up two U bolts and bolted the shovel to my rack. All I need to get it off is a wrench to loosen it. I'll post up pics tomorrow when it's not so dark out

Whoever said that doesn't have any idea what they're talking about. My shovel only weighs a couple of pounds. There's no way mounting a shovel on the radiator support rods is going to stress them or break them. Some people post the dumbest things....

Might work but I wouldn't have any rounds in it. That would suck to have shells cooking off from the engine heat. Probably wouldn't happen but would hate to take the chance.

Good place for a ski rack like this Sport Rack. Some are lockable as well.
Mount shovel, skis, walking sticks, poles, boards, etc.
