Side step help?

Hello again!

So idk if anyone knows already I'm 17 running all mods and updates to my '97. I painted my fender flares black already with no problem and I love the look. Now I wanna paint the side steps. I'm in the process of removing then and got all but one single bolt on the passenger side to come off. I have blasted it with PB blaster and taken so much out on it. Broke two sockets so far and now it's rounded out and nothing can get a hold of it. Anyone have any tips or suggestions on what I can do? I also tried taking the steps off the mounting polls, but I don't have a socket that will fit it.

I am sure you are already well passed needing help on this issue, but just in case...

Take an angle grinder, or die grinder, and grind/cut the bolt head off flush with the side step mounting bracket. Once the step is out of the way cut the bolt shank off flush with the frame. Then use the proper size drill bit, and drill the bolt out of the frame, and re-tap as needed. Obviously you will need a new bolt for the install...
