Side view mirror help please

Hey everyone, I know this seems kind of simple, but does anyone know what size the nut is that holds the stock side view mirrors onto the door mounting bracket? I lost mine and am now needing a new one. I'm pretty sure it's an M10, but I don't know what the thread pitch is. I tried all the ones at the local hardware store but none of them seemed to work. Is it an odd size or something?
