Sidesteps

Considering getting these for the woman so she can get in and out of the TJ without a running start:

Wrangler TJ Side Steps

Only problem is, I have Olympic rocker gaurds, as the guy before me had a little fender bender and they are covering up the only dent the Jeep got, will the guards get in the way of hooking these up?

The bolt to the frame so if the guards you have are just the flat rockers to the tub...You shouldn't have any problem.

But $125 is STEEP....I see these go for $40 all the time. I think I have two sets laying in the garage. If you was close I'd give them to you.

ALSO...there are two different types of these....(how they mount per year of TJ) I think the change was in 2001 but...still need the right ones for your year. Happy hunting...And I'd keep looking...these sell all the time for much less.

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I will keep my eyes peeled for a cheaper set. I'm really not in any hurry, but the ol' lady has been heckling me to get a set ever since she saw them on another Wrangler.

Like Distorted said, $125 is WAY too much. I see these for sale for about $50 I have to keep my set on my Jeep. My GF is too short to step into the Jeep. Good luck.

How short are your wives/girlfriends? Mine is 5'2" and she hasn't said a word about steps.

Mine is just under 5'2" and don't like climbing in. I am 5 10" and just step in. No biggie to me.

I went to school at VCU, but I'm back in Arlington, VA now. It's about an hour and a half. Might be up that way this weekend, thanks for the link!

PadreC, 5'1. She always slides in from the corner of the seat as soon as she hits, and drags my seatcover into a scrunched mess. I've got some lazy friends who are tall enough as well, but still drag across.
