I am sure this topic has been beat to death but I am going to ask the question anyways.
I have a 1998 Jeep. I recently install a 2 inch suspension lift on it. I am wanting to get new tires and not sure what size they should be. I would really like to go with 33's but I have read in some posts that a 2 inch lift is not enough for 33's but will work just fine with 32's. I have read in some post that people have put 33's on without any issues.
I am not going to do any major off-roading. Maybe a trail every now and then. Any advice I could get would greatly help.
2" will work with 32s but will be snug. Like previously stated, 31s would be more appropriate. Might consider slipping a 1" BL in there too if you want to run 32s
Yes I agree with the 31" tires if you stay only at a 2" lift. I've seen that generally every inch in tire size that you go about 29", 1" of lift is needed for proper suspension travel. So for a 2" lift 31's are appropriate. But if you do get a 1" body lift then 32's will be appropriate.
This is 31 mud tires on a 2"BB. Keep in mind. A 31 mud tire will be the same aspect ratio as a 32 all terrain. 32mud same as 33 AT... so if you get a 32 mud tire.. you may be rubbing. But a 32 AT will be ok.
If you really want 33s or larger with a 2" lift, you should look at high clearance fenders. I run 35s with a 2" lift, 1" BL and could probably go to 37s. However, I also have Metal Cloak fenders.
Thanks everyone. From the looks of it I will be getting 32s.
