Skyjacker 2.5" Kit

I'm sorry if this has been brought up already, but the search function on this site wouldn't search for it. I am in the search of a lift kit, and have settled on a 2.5" - 3" kit. The skyjacker 2.5" kit ( 2.5" Suspension System by Skyjacker and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware-RH3 ) seems to be the best kit for my needs. It would be a weekend project since I am still in college. With this size kit, would I need any other parts, such as a drop pitman arm? Thank you for any feedback.

Take it from someone with personal experience...look into a different kit for that money. I made the mistake of buying that kit when I got my jeep (however it had shocks included). I learned that, if possible, control arms with joints are much better. I am not saying the kit has done me wrong, but for the money there is much more to choose from out there. Check out Old man emu, currie, rock krawler...etc

I have looked into both the Zone 3" kit along with the OME kit. I just wish the OME 2.5" kit came with better descriptions of what is in it.

I have heard that zone makes some decent products. Im not sure how much coin you are willing to spend though. Depending on how much you plan on spending, we may be able to point you in a little better direction.

AOR in the Vendor's section has a steal of a deal on the Zone 4" suspension or 4.25" combo (3" Susp, 1.25" BL)

I've heard nothing but good things about Zone's lifts, I'm bout to get the Zone 4" Lift kit from AOR

I am not looking for a body lift at all. Just suspension.

Ok, as an example you could look into something like this...

2" Suspension System (Light-load) by Old Man Emu and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware-RH1

This should come with your springs and shocks...you can also choose the load on them.
This will not include control arms though, so you will need to buy those. I have seen people that have run the stock arms with a kit similar to that one, but it doesnt hurt upgrading because the stock arms are flimsy. If you feel you can afford to replace all 8 (UCAs and LCAs), here is an option.

Rokmen - ROKMEN Adjustable Control Arms

I am still running the UCAs without an issue (I would like to upgrade though). I wheel quite a bit and havent had an issue yet. So if you dont feel you can afford all 8 arms you can look into replacing just the lowers.

Rokmen - ROKMEN Adjustable Control Arms

I dont know what AOR is offering in their kit on here, but that may be another option to look into. Send him a PM and see what he has to say.

I have also looked at this kit. (I soon wish to purchase a winch and/or hardtop)

That is a good kit too, it also does not have control arms though. I am not saying it is absolutely neccessary, just preferred. For a winch, you may look into the warn M8000. It is a good winch and a pretty reasonable price. Someone actually posted a link up last week where they got it for 100 dollars less than normal (making it only like 440 bucks), look around, you may still be able to find it.
