Skyjacker Hydro's on RC Lift

hi everybody, i am trying to find a way to make my RC lift ride a little better on the road. right now i have the RC shocks that came with the 4" kit. Do you think that the Skyjacker Hydro's would give me the better ride I'm looking for, or is the problem my springs? thanks

Call Jeffrey at RC. I spoke to him this week on how harsh the shocks ride and he said that they are revalving all the 2.2 shocks for a better ride and they will be ready in about 1 month.

Is RC offering the new shocks for free to customers that have the old ones? If so, heck why not give them a try . . . if not, why in the hell would you throw more money over to RC when the last set of shocks from them sucked and when their reputation for ride quality has always been poor at best? . . . ROUGH Country . . . the name says it all!!! Again if they'll hook you up with a free set . . . cool, but otherwise why not invest in a quality shock like a Bilistin or even OME?

whoa, I'm just passing on what I was told from Jeffrey at RC.
From what I understood, if you have a set of their 2.2s, they will exchange them for you.
I have a set of the original 2.2 and they are killing me over potholes and speedbumps. I haven't even thought of taking them offroad yet. To tell you the truth, I'm afraid it will hurt too much.

That sounds cool . . . I know RC is really working on their products and reputation . . . providing an exchange would be a cool thing for them to do. . . . didn't mean to make you feel like I was jumping on you . . . tone is sometimes hard to intrepret on the forum!

Whoa, I thought RC's latest 2.2 shocks were their response to the many constant previous complaints of stiff riding shocks! You mean even the 2.2 shocks ride too stiffly and RC is coming out with yet another version of shock they say will ride better?? Yeah that's too much if they are still valved too stiffly after they came out bragging about how the new 2.2 shocks have a great ride now. I've never been a fan of RC but this is too much.

Yes Jerry,
I was informed that the new valving will be smoother and closer to stock valving. Well, I know they came out with these shocks for their LA kit. I was just wondering if they are valved too stiff for a SA kit....less leverage. It was just a thought of mine. Could this be possible. Either way, they said that the new shocks will be out within a month and should ride great..............................we'll see ?

They claimed their current "improved" 2.2 shocks rode great.

They rode ok until you hit expansion joints or pot holes. Then it feels like a jackhammer in your back. Enough to where my 11 yr old daughter said her go cart rode better and asked whats wrong with the jeep.

I'm going to try the new shocks and if they dont ride nice, return them and get some skyjacker hydros. 9000's are a little steep right now for me.

when i bought the lift, i didn't upgrade to the 2.2 shocks. are they replacing the base level shocks as well (not sure what they are called)? i have read a lot of good reviews on the Skyjacker hydro's and they seem like they have a good price. i read that they are comparable to OME, does anybody know if this is true?
