Slider windows

I have slider windows that are secured to the half door with 4 and 5"x 3/8" bolts. They screw into the door pin inserts. When I bought the jeep the inserts were stripped so the bolts just slide in and out. I can get 1 screw/ bolt tight on the drivers side and its ok but the other window is really loose and the wind whistles. I have not been able to find grooved inserts anywhere. Anyone have any ideas? I ordered some regular inserts hoping I might be able to bore my own grooves. It's just plastic. Should work right?

My sliders fit into the half door pegs so i can take them out and put them in easily. Is it a fiber glass top 1/2 or canvas?. Replacement inserts are not expensive. Have any pictures. Not following.

Are your sliders the bestop brand or something else. The sliders I have are made of fiberglass and install the same way. Regular inserts will work fine

See, it's a bolt. When these are tight there is NO wind noise. My inserts are threaded to accept the bolt.

Another pic. This one goes in tight but the other door doesn't. It whistles because the upper is loose.

I know exactly what you are saying, when i had those sliders mine were stripped too. I could tighten two bolts on each side, so it wasnt that bad. I did locate new threaded inserts, but i cant remember where, it was a couple of years ago and i sold the hardtop and sliders and got a soft top.

Found these install instructions for a fiberglass slider. They show the inserts. Maybe call theme and see if they have a set to purchase?

Nuts

I see now, there are nuts that go on the bottom of the insert. Makes sense. Thanks for the feedback.
