smittybilt tube fenders

Thinking about putting a set of smittybilt tube fenders with the 3 " flare on my rubi. I would just like to put a feeler out there to anyone who has run them to see what ya thought of them.

If you build your jeep so big and bad that it's really easy to get threw everything out there, then your going to get bored.

This might be a dumb question but on the jeep if I go with them that does away with the front turn signals that are on the front fenders. Will i have to add some somewhere on the front?

I have these fenders and added amber LED for turn signals. They look and work great.

The old style Smittybilts were nice... had the inner liner and replaced entirely the factory fender. Wish they still made those.

look at the post above yours. notice the turn signals in the "CJ" location...that's what a lot of people do. looks "right" on a jeep, and keeps you legal.

JK front turn signals can be installed onto the front grill like in the photo in the #2 post above. They have that CJ-look but use the same bulb socket the TJ uses which just twist-locks into place in the JK housing. I got mine from RockAuto Auto Parts

2-wire LED side marker lights can be installed easily to replace the lost side markers.

The below is how the JK turn signals looked on my last TJ.

Here's what I did when I installed my Genright fenders......

They're 2.5" LED turn/marker signals I got from eBay. I think I paid around $20 shipped. Easy to install and I think they look great. And they're pretty bright, there are 13 LEDs in each light.

Sorry I didn't show this before. My signals are the little white dots on the tabs between the fender and the grill just outside the headlights. They are LED and light up amber. They are small but very bright.

Nickeagle,
Do you spray the entire fender and then paint over it or leave it alone? What kind of bedliner do you use? Out of a buzz can or brush on like Monstaliner? Did you happen to coat in between the old body fender (that you cut) and the new Smittybilt fender when you installed?

I know this post is aging, but I'm currently installing mine and want to slow any corrosion if possible?

Thanks

For what its worth, I've had my Smittybilt fenders, bumpers, and sliders on for 6 month now with no corrosion or rust problems.

Are the rear flares also a smittybilt product?

Wish I could give you some wisdom here, but the dealership I bought my Jeep from was also a Smittybilt dealer. They sold me everything at cost.
