smittybuilt gear seat covers, did not like, jmo

quadratec had this set on sale, 2 seat covers and a tailgate cover, all for $198, a good price i thought, it comes with all the pouches and stuff as shown.

the tailgate piece though requires you drill holes into your tailgate, i didn't want to make that kind of mod, especially not knowing if that part would end up working out for me or not. i prefer stuff i can put on and remove without any permanent mod, where possible anyway and so far all my small addons have been this way (seat risers, grab handles, underseat lockbox).

so i went about trying on the seat cover portion. i have a 2006 rubi. it goes on but doesn't snug up well, kind of hard for it to do so when the seat is bucketshaped. the side straps had no way to come close to snugging anyway, based on where the velcro and whatnot is, it was going to hang loose if left on.
one side strap goes right where the upper fold and tumble latch is, bad location for that strap.
the lower part has bungie hook strings and says to latch wherever you can find, that doesn't bind the seat function. welp, the hook is too tiny to find anywhere to latch, all the rods in that area are larger diameter than the bungie's hooks. and i couldn't find a place that i felt safe wouldn't hang up the seat function.

overall i think the concept is good, molle straps on the back and pouches, looks cool especially for my armygreen jeep, in the pics anyway;
installed it did not look good, looked sloppy and unprof.

then the tail piece, i have to drill holes into my metal just to install and learn if i even want to keep it on there.

am returning. just wanted to post a review.
