Smittybuilt Rear bumper/Tire Carrier Install?

Anyone have a write up or instructions to do this?

I heard you wanted to do something about the tabs or whatever..? Not sure...

It arrived today and I plan on installing it this weekend sometime. If anyone has done this, any tips?

Thanks in advance

...lol thanks? I read on the other forum.. how the towing isn't good at all, and I know mine still isn't but I think since they posted (5 years ago) this thing has changed... Looks much more secure... There's like a plate or something under the trailer hitch and on the back of the bumper (part that goes on frame) is a full plate, others have just two plates where they bolt...

I will post pics tomorrow, it's late here and I'm tired.. lol

Do you have frame tie-ins? If not, then you should add them.

Pictures

Finally got some pics...

You might know what I'm talking about by looking at these about the trailer hitch and the full back plating...

boxes they came in...

back of the swingout

front of swingout..

hardware for swingout..

hardware for bumper...

Oh btw, I AM getting U.S. grade 8 hardware before installation...The Chinese grade 8 just doesn't seem to cut it... Thanks all

Also, is there any installation write up on this? Thanks again
Mike

Finally got it on... It took about 4-5 hours... I still need to do some tapping on two parts, but I still drove it like it is and I heard no rattles or anything... I don't have a spare to put on yet..

Only pic I have right now.. Will take some more tomorrow if I have time..

It's hard to tell if it rattles until you get some weight (a spare) on it. After that, unless you used Lock-tite, recheck your bolts in a 100 miles or so.

Ok, thanks, I will do that.. I kinda thought that I wouldn't really here anything until some weight is on it... The rubber thing to fit in before you latch it I have to push down hard on it to be able to latch because well I guess no weight is on it.. lol

I like the bumper, it looks good.. I can't really say anything about it right now because I don't have a tire on it, but I will let you guys know how it turns out when I get it on...
