so i have a potential problem. problem is, i dont know what the every now and again i hear and feel a loud metallic "snap" come from under my jeep. it causes me to lurch slightly, and then every things fine. it seems to be mainly when i make sharp turns (although on some turns that are very sharp its fine..) and also when i start up quickly from a light (again 95% of the time it works as it should without the snapping sound).

quick BG on my jeep.

it could be a locker in the rear diff. some will act just as you are describing (Detroit) one way to tell is pick up the rear axle and spin the tires if they both spin the same way then congrats you are the proud owner of a locked axle.
