Question So tellme about my 6 speed Mannual

The first gear is sooo tight barely gets me 10 feet in to an intersection...is it safe to continually start in second? Anyone have experience in this?
Much appreciated...Reno

Only time I take off in first is on a steep incline. Other than that I use second. That's with 33" tires & 3.73 gears.

When did they start putting 6 speeds in?
This isn't the first time I have heard jeeps having 6 speeds but I never new what year and model they were put into?
Anyone no?

Reason why I ask is because I am selling my 4banger and buying a newer TJ and would love to look for a 6 speed.

05 was first year for 6 speed. Mine came with 28" tires new. With 28's I could almost take off in third! Lol!
