So there I was, mindin' my own bidness...

..when off the side of the road was this little trail down into the ditch leading to several big mud puddles. As I had my 12 year old son riding shotgun I felt behooved to ascertain the exact depth and makeup of the aforementioned mud puddles. It took several trips through them but I feel we accomplished the mission. My wife, who does not appreciate such endeavors, was not amused. Just wait till I get her behind strapped in...

We got the cover at allthingsjeep.com. I have matching covers for the KC lights on the front bumper. My wife is a smiley face and Tweety fanatic. No Tweety on my Jeep!

How do you get stuck with a jeep? No lockers? im sure if you lowered your tire pressure and worked on it for a while you could find your way out. Or maybe im outta line and dont understand the soil or terrain you have locally.

I've tested many a puddle...for some reason I just want to make sure they are at the proper depth.
Fortunately my daughter and fiancé get a kick out of it too.

no lockers but

Lockers do not work if there is nothing but slushy mud, zero traction and you sink fast.

Im in south Louisiana,Louisisana was built by the Miss. river several million years ago by sediment that was washed down from northren states. We are soft, problly the softest state.

So sometimes lockers help if theres hard bottom.Ive seen construction sites drive pilings and they fall stright thru the ground after a couple hits.......pileing dissappears.

anyway check out this pick,I turned the corner at about 5mph and sunk,no hard bottom to get traction........Pulled out by a Dodge with a cummins

on my property of corse.

just before I got stuck, testing the Dick Cepek mudcountrys at 30psi,I used to get stuck going fast with street tires so I was just showing how much diffrence tires make

Ha, also in south Louisiana, got stuck once with no top...locked, the nasty stuff down here sneaks up without warning. It was a mess...in church clothes. Also...on my property as well...of course. I would never go onto an abandoned development and ride around.

I see I'm not alone in my fondness for mud. Every time we saw a clean Jeep yesterday I told my Tyler that a clean Jeep is a sign of a dirty mind. After awhile when we would spot one he just shook his head in disgust. That and the fact that he walks around singing '70s classic rock songs and blues is a true indication that I am a good daddy!

These puddles were on hard packed trails in a huge ditch off the side of MS highway 43. I knew that if I kept my forward momentum we likely would not get stuck and after half a dozen passes through them, with the obligatory 4wd burnout in the wash next to the puddles, we were on our merry, muddy way.

BTW, I'm not far from you South Louisiana peeps... I'm in Picayune, MS. I work in NOLA so you might see my smiling face around there.

Me, the boy and stuff I made for us...

I'm not far from y'all either I'm in Laplace (St John parish) and the spillway has some wicked mud and clay. Me and the wife and son played a little after they closed the locks this year crawfishing.

I have been stuck several times in there but not in the Jeep. I have been stuck and pulled alot of people out when I had my 77 chevy 4x4 6in lift 38in swampers 396 big block 4speed granny 411 gears posi lockers that truck has a mule. But you couldn't pass a gas station up in it.
