When I bought my TJ, it came with full steel doors and both hard and soft tops. Last year I bought half doors with soft uppers and used them all summer with the factory soft top.
At the start of winter I put my hardtop back on. While the half doors were still on there I was surprised they wouldn't shut. Just didn't seem to want to fit.
I didn't think too much of it and just threw my full hard doors back on.
Well today I bought a set of full soft doors that I wanted for the summer. I still have my hard top on. I put these Bestop full soft doors on but even these don't want to fit with the factory hardtop.
I know these Bestop soft doors have an adjustable lower hinge but even trying to manipulate them, I couldn't get them to close. With the upper portion removed I could shut the door just fine. The upper, back radius seems fine, it's just too tight along much of the outside.
I know these soft uppers fitting into hardtops is extremely common, what am I missing in making these fit well.
Again, factory hardtop, factory soft top and Bestop soft uppers on a 2000TJ.
No known modifications, factory hinges on Jeep side and steel doors.
Do you guys ever have to shim, flex or use brute force and ignorance to align these things.
