Soft half-top for 04 Tj?

Is there a company that make a soft half-top for 2004 jeep TJ? Been looking around and I can only find Bestop and rampage for 98-2002 models of the Tj.
Has anyone used these on a 2004 Tj with any success?

The first one for 97-2002. It seems more secure against the elements than the Bikini top, windjammer, dust cover combo.

Jeep physically changed the roll bar diameter in 2003 to be larger than the 2002 or older Jeeps (at least the ones from the main hoop to windshield). I do not know if that top will fit because of that. Also the rear speakers do not look like they get covered.

I looked at the install instructions and you have to mount a bracket to the floor behind the front seats (where the bed floor is raised) to secure the bottom of the windjammer and end of duster cover. I do not know if you want that bracket in there if the top is not on.

If Im not mistaken, all the bracket is, is a Z channel.

That is correct. I do not know how much it would interfere when the top is not on. That is all I was trying to say.

I've got a bestop halftop on my 05. It'll work no problem, you just have to get rid of all the roll bar padding because Jeep made the pading thicker in 03.
As for the speakers, i just unbolted the pods and put them in the floor where the rear seat passengers feet used to go.

If its the same one that comes with the wraparound windjammer, then its not noticeable, its only bout a 1/4" thick at most.

The one that came with my halftop isn't even noticeable with the top off. You cant see it unless you're lookin for it.

K just to be clear before I order one. You have the BESTOP half-top (soft top) for your 2005 TJ. It fits perfectly with no major adjustment except removal of roll bar padding.

One more question. Was your 2005 a hardtop or soft top? Which bestop did you get (for hardtop or soft top). Got the installation guide for both for some reading tonight to figure out the main differences. I have the 2004 soft top and was planning on getting the Bestop for soft top. Just want to make sure there's no "extra" pieces that's not included in the package.

Get the one for the soft top, Mine was a soft top too. The half top for the hard top models come with crappy door surrounds and they just Velcro to the surrounds and have a tendency to come undone at speed.

The soft top one is what you want, it'll reuse your factory door surrounds.

Thanks. Wasn't sure if, due to the model difference, that new door surrounds were needed. Now I know. Thanks for all your help

Ive got a question all the way from Australia, i was wondering whether your half top leaks at all with the padding removed? i managed to get mine to fit on my 2005 TJ but it leaked really bad and was curious whether that might be because the padding doesnt let it seal properly.

cheers

Mine leaks some if its a really hard rain, but it's not a concern for me since I have the carpet removed and the drain plugs pulled.

It's not too bad, the passenger floor can get kinda hot on long road trips. I don't mind the little bit if extra heat. A lot of guys use some kind of truck bed liner to help cut the heat and noise down, but I can't comment on how good it works.

I have a question on the top, did people who installed them leave the factory seal that is on top of the windshield? or did you remove it?

Currently fixing my jeep and i got the half top and with the factory seal in place, seems extremely tight if i try to latch it as part of the installation procedure, but i didn't yet, cause i don't want to put it in a bind and break it while installing it.

Thanks
