Soft Top

I was wondering if there was something that they make that would be easier then putting my soft top back on everyday. I live in the city and dont have a garage and park on the street. Nothing has every happened to my jeep but i dont want to leave it open. Any Suggestions?

Shawn

could always go with a trail cover. won't deter thieves but it will cover up the interior and keep your jeep dry if it rains. and don't leave anything of value inside...?

even with the soft top on, your jeep is still open to anyone with a knife. I personally leave my doors unlocked and leave nothing of value in my rig. A trail cover is a perfect idea for a quick cover up to protect the insides.

yeah, you can get covers that cinch up on the bottom and you can put a masterlock on it if you wanna go through all that trouble every night, that would be a little safer, i suppose....but personally a soft top is easily broken into, so just like walkeraviator said, don't leave anything anybody wants in it and you should be ok. cd players with detachable face plates are nice for this reason

Like everyone said your soft top does nothing to prevent theft. Someone can easily cut it or unzip it if they want something. You're better off just not leaving anything in your jeep when you leave it. You develop kind of a "soft top mentality" after owning a jeep with a soft top for a while. If you really want to prevent any theft or damage to your jeep, just take everything out with you when you get out, or if the top is on leave the doors unlocked. I'd much rather have some moron open the doors of my jeep and find nothing rather than cut up my 500 dollar top and then find nothing.

If you're looking for protection against the elements though a trail cover would be perfect, goes on in seconds and protects the inside of your jeep from the weather.

if someone wants in your jeep they are gonna get in no matter what... hard top, soft top, no top. only thing they care about is whats inside, not whats "stopping" them from getting in.

I am not saying it is hard i was just asking for an easier way instead of going through all the time to put it back on after getting off work because i work 3rd shift and when i wake up from work in the afternoon/evening i am just going to put it right back down.

how about using metal netting? Tie it to the roll bar and be happy lol. It will give you more security than soft top and it will also protect you against flying objects on the road such as rocks but you will still get the wind flowing.

I agree I live in Missouri where the weather changes by the minute the soft top can be a pain to put up and down by your self. Especially if you know your gonna put it donw later. I was thinking about a different kind of top just to keep the elements out also.

Dode it comes coated in other colors too... it will look like full bikini top with very big holes in it.
also the original post was about security, not quick rainfall

Cool Softtop theft

I just carry a small bag in my jeep which I keep in the backseat while driving and on my shoulder when not.

ok, strap the top, strap the sides and the back and put the doors on and go ahead and try to break in.

it will take you some time to cut a hole big enough.
