Mine is the same. Too much top to be flat. It doesn't matter for me. I don't look back there.

Depends on how you are folding it. If it's already hot, then it's more flexible, easier to work with and fold. I can get the back part of it to tuck down behind my tailgate pretty easy. Then the portion between the back half and the middle I fold inward. The last part from the middle to the front has the plastic pieces that lock around the window. they are separated for folding. If you do not fold that part correctly it will stick up and could bend those plastic pieces. I can get mine below my spare easily enough, but it won't ever fold down to where it can't be seen . though I guess it also depends on which top you have.

I know the plastic pieces (over the doors) on the top are supposed to fold inward and not out.
And I removed my rollbar padding and like the way it looks.

Here's what mine looks like circa 5 minutes ago. This is with the rear window in there as well.

That's a pretty good tuck that Ageless Stranger has. Mine is similar but not as neat looking. I also remove my rear window because it's too easy to scratch up.

Today it's kinda laying however, nowhere near what I normally do. I don't too much worry about the way its folded except for the plastic pieces.

I take off my side windows and roll them up and roll up the back window and it folds up pretty good from there

The rear window is in there but not zipped in. I take it completely out and roll it up. Then I pull the sail panels out and throw them over the top. After that I lay the rolled rear window on the top just in front of the 3 bow on top of the sail panels. Then I fold everything up as you see it in the pictures. The quarter windows are rolled up on a cardboard tube between layers of soft towels behind the rear seat.

according to the manual....you are supposed to remove all the windows before taking down the soft top....now you know why!
I put mine in the 'roll' (quadratek) and that clips on the roll cage above the soft top when we drop it, or just sits behind the back of the rear seat if we leave the rest up.
With the garvin rack it's just too much work to try and drop the soft top-didn't do it once this year but the windows come out every trip!

wow there is amnual to removing a soft top, seriously I just stuff it behind the seat and throw crap on top of it so it doesn't balloon up, I have abackpack, jackets, fishing gear and pole and three chairs behind my back seat. you guys are way too neat and anal to be real jeepers ha ha

I take my side windows out and roll them up and stuff them behind the seat. Then I roll rear window, pit soft top down and loosely fold it.
Know of any good soft top cleaners? Mines a tan top but has red clay on it still and I've washed the top with a power washer and it still hasn't come out.... Washed four weeks ago and then once to twice every week. Previous

After owning a Mustang convertible for 16 years and noticing significant sun bleaching on the exposed portion of the soft top (and headliner) when the top was down, I started investigating cover options for my new (to me) 06 LJ soft top. I found that Rugged Ridge does make a 'Soft Top Boot Cover'.

Rather than buying online, I printed out the two cheapest sites' pages and brought down to my local 4x4 center (Four-To-Go in Wheat Ridge, CO) and they matched the best price. That way I don't have to pay shipping. Yes, I do pay local sales tax on the purchase, but that doesn't matter since the State of CO began taxing ALL internet purchases on July 1. Plus, I get the added bonus of contributing to my local economy and supporting local Jeepers!

Here is the link to the Rugged Ridge site showing the boot covers:
12104.15: Rugged Ridge Soft Top Storage Boot - Rugged Ridge & Omix-Ada Accessories - RuggedRidgeSales.com

I attempted to attach a photo from the Rugged Ridge site since I just placed the order yesterday and it will be several more days until I can get it and install it. (Once installed, I will post pics here.) But couldn't quite figure it out. I want to get my reply posted so you can see the picture on the Rugged Ridge site. I'll play around with jpeg attachments so I'll know how to do it once my RL photos are ready.

For those who don't like Rugged Ridge, perhaps we can cajole InfernoGirl to add boot covers to her offerings of kick-azz seat covers?

Well, it looks like the pic showed up on the actual thread post but it wasn't showing up on my 'preview post'...guess I'm a bit more geeky than I originally thought. Must have been having...an episode.

This is an LJ sunrider top, but it's amazing how this guy is able to neatly fold it where it sits nicely.
