Soft Top Highway Help

Just trying to see what people do with their soft top on the highway to keep it from flipping up and becoming a sail, lately thats been happening a lot. I know that they sell a boot for it that wraps around it and keeps it all neat and in place, but I just want to know if theres some trick to getting it to stay down. Im fine driving around town and everywhere else, its just 60 mph+ on the highway after awhile it starts to lift up and get all messy on me.

Are you sure you are folding it right and tucking it in? Only reason I ask is that I never have any problem like that. Once it's down it sits.

Yes its definitely folding up right and sitting nice and neat, its just after about 25 minutes or so of highway driving it catches air I guess and gets all messy. Ill take a picture of it folded down and post it to make sure, but Im pretty sure I've got it right

Please do, cause mine has never been a problem. Is it a factory top? But yes, you can get a boot to keep it all tidy. I have one and it looks really nice, it just seems like for me that every time I put it on, it rains the next day.....

I was having that problem too... I dont know why ... but to solve the problem i got a piece of double side velcro (hard on one side and soft on the other) and wrapped around in the middle and that keeps it from coming up cost ... $0.00 had it on hand.

That's very odd. I'm awful with folding the top down (like were talking completely bunched up in the back) and I still never have any issue. Yea some velco sounds like it'd do the trick.

Try tucking the corners that are sticking out, down into the tub. That should help. You can stuff most everything except the front down there if you work it right.

Maybe I'm not seeing it correctly but did you push all the excess in between their respective bars? I slowly pull the top back and push it down behind the seat as it lowers. For the pesky corners that go over the doors when it's up I fold them in toward the middle. Just grab it at the split and push it toward the center of the jeep.

one thing I've noticed on instructional videos is that some people wrap their sail panels around the entire top when it's folded to prevent that from happening.

Personal note: I have an instatrunk, so I can't tuck mine in the tub. I don't wrap the top with the panels, and I've never experienced the parachute.

I have an add a trunk too, you can shove most of it down there....
