Soft Top Loop Questions

I only have a hard top.
I am considering getting a soft top. Someone told me that, in order to install a soft top, my TJ would have to have a 2-hole bracket on each of the roll bars, half way down, behind each of the front seats. (Man, that's a long sentence.)

When I look at what is on the jeep, I see that bracket, but there is only 1 hole, not 2.

Is this a matter of certain soft tops requiring 2 holes, & other soft tops only needing 1 hole?

Here are a couple of pictures showing my brackets with only the 1 hole.

My '02 actually has two of those on each side. There are two frame arms that connect on each side. I don't have a good pic of my own but check out the replacement pic .. you can see the two arms and how they attach in two different spots on the bar.

It's called a soft top bow bracket. That's how the OEM frame swivels and connects to.

So, there are 2 brackets on each side of the jeep, and each bracket has 1 hole in it, right?

nope. Each side have 2 holes. There's 2 arms per side on a OEM frame that swivels on it to open/close.
