Duct tape is only for CJ owners. TJ owners need a more elegant solution.

Use seam sealer (sewing shops, canvas boat shops, camping stores). And then use a product called "Bond-x" - it's like a liquid band-aid.

Nice, I have a very small hole in my tent trailer's canvas area that has been bugging me. I'll look for the Bond-X, thanks Geoff.

Actually, super glue does work great for holding wounds together. I keep forgetting to add it to my somewhat extensive first aid kit and it belongs there.

I know, but they do sell a medical grad super glue. I don't think you want to use the regular stuff on an open wound.

There's no difference between medical grade cyanoacrylate super glue and consumer grade cyanoacrylate super glue other than the price and label. You just have to make sure you buy only cyanoacrylate super glue which is probably the most commonly available form of super glue.

that is actually what super glue was invented to be used for... field surgery for the army. the problem is that in high enough doses to be used in that type of environment, super glue is toxic. for paper cuts and small cuts around the garage where its not internalized its perfect.
even the warning on it says "bonds skin instantly"
in other trivia, the fumes given off are what is used to make fingerprints appear in forensic science.

Cyanoacrylate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

well they're not all the same

"Due to the toxicity issues of ethyl cyanoacrylate, the use of 2-octyl cyanoacrylate for sutures is preferred."

Anyone ever try liquid electrical tape? I saw it at home depot, looks very useful and water tight.

Yup my wife had her gall bladder removed on last Friday. Not one stitch, just super glue.

Liquid Electrical Tape works well, have used it a lot on boat trailer electrical connections.

Yeah that sounds great! I'll look for it too.
I'd been wondering how to fix a small seam rip on my soft upper doors
