Soft Top Question

I have the Best top replace a top thats only three years old. The driver side back windows zipper to connect the window is broken. The shinny metal part where you start the zipper is loose so I am not able to put my window back in. I did rig it up the other day with fishing wire but that no longer works. The only solution that I can think of is that I am going to have to buy a new top. Which I do not want to do.

Do ya'll have any ideas?

Take it to an upholstery/awning/boat shop and see if they can replace the zipper.

they say they could but for 150 bucks that seems a little steep to me just for a zipper and its not even the whole zipper its just the first part that loose

I guess try another place but 150 vs 400+ for a new top still sounds like a better deal. I don't understand from you post what is broken and is it on the window or on the top?

on the divers side when you start to zip the window to the top the metal part has become flimsy and will bend in when I try to start the zipper making it very difficult near impossible to start, where the metal part meets the canvas just needs to be reinforced but I can not figure a way to do it

I think I know what you are talking about. The window has become flimsy next to the male tab you insert into the female zipper on the top? I forgot what was there but there was a piece of stiffer material/plastic attached there. Mine did the same thing when that stiff piece peeled off and it was difficult to start the zipper. I cut a piece of plastic (example: a store card / credit card etc) and glued it next to the tab. Now it is stiff enough that I can push the zipper in to start it. I had to try a couple different glues and it has been on for about a year. Careful not to attach it too close to the male tab and it won't go into the female end.

I'd try just putting glue on the fabric first. That'll stiffen it some... If that's not enough then try gluing some thin plastic to it to add reinforcement. Crazy glue dries fast and hard.
