Soft Top Replacement Help

Hi All,
I am looking to get a replacement top for my TJ and wanted to see what peoples experiences have been. The top i have now has been on since 2003 and was essentially the same as came with the jeep aside from tinted windows.

My first dilemma is do i get another spice color top or go black?

once that has been figured out do I keep the frame or go framless for that "fastback" look?

I really like the look of the Rampage Frameless, esp since there is storage space in the top if i decided to take the sides off and leave the top on...but where do i store the top if i take everything off?

Also, when i was looking at the frameless tops they all seem to come with door surrounds & headers which I already have, but don't come with upper door skins which i would need. Is there a way to order just what I need?

Any thoughts / opinions / past experiences websites to check out would be greatly appreciated.

To help here is a picture from this summer. I know -10pts for it being clean...

I personally think the frameless top looks a little sloppy, as the rear window bunches toward the top... to each is own on this one. When I want to take the top off but need some cover, I have a bikini/duster/windjammer combo which is ideal and looks awesome - and is relatively affordable.

You can find replacement tops or top parts online for a good price... check eBay and Amazon for bidding and usually cheaper prices than most retailers. With some patience, you can get a steal (I got a brand new black top for 198$).

As for color - I think a black top would fit your rims, but the spice matches your interior. Your call, I'd go black. If you are investing in a new top, you are the one that needs to be happy, not anyone else.

Good luck.

Personally I am iffy on the "fastback" tops on the TJ, there isn't enough of an angle to show that off like on an LJ. Also I would stick with spice, goes with your interior.

Decisions Decisions. Well i appreciate both of your thoughts. I am waiting until April/May to put a new top on as i don't want a fresh top to debut when New England is still getting snow. The droopyness of the frameless top has me a bit concerned. would be great if one of the soft top vendors could provide some insight...I'll keep you posted with what i go with, pictures of course...
