so I was going through facebook last night and had a good friend selling a diesel and I couldnt pass it up. traded my jeep in for something more useful
now before people start bashing the 6 point ho....its studded and deleted has all the goods
I bought it stock 2/14/15 and sold it 9/3/15....ya I know after all that work
great rig I just needed another good vehicle
had some people wanting to look at this truck as I was buying it and my jeep sold a few hours after I traded lol
I've had my 6.0 for 9 years now. I studded/deleted/bulletproofed it once it hit 100,000 miles. Great dependable truck. Just stay up on the fluid changes. In all honesty, my 6.0 King Ranch may be the most dependable vehicle I've ever owned. Certainly the most powerful. I let a mechanic friend borrow it last month so he could haul a big boat to the lake. When he returned it, he had a big smile on his face and was bragging that he just let my truck "eat a Corvette." I may have added a few hp, lol
Great looking truck! 05-07 are still the best looking super dutys IMO.

Everything you will ever need to know about that truck will be on there. I bought my TJ because my 06 CCLB was just too damn big to drive around town. As stated above maintenance is the key to those engines. Bulletproof is a loose term tossed around the 6.0 world and most of the time they simply put in an EGR valve block off plate, capped off the EGR inlets and dropped ARB studs. To bulletproof it you need to remove the factory liquid to liquid oil/coolant system with the Bulletproof diesel system and a coolant filter certainly does not hurt. You will find that there is just as many Mods to do to the 6.0 as there is with your TJ.
Oh! Get yourself a monitor. The gauges are worthless.
hey guys sorry been crazy busy. I am in love with this rig
I have already had the stc fail but my friend that sold it to me offered to fix it free of cost.
I did not buy this to roll coal or race or anything like that. I bought it to haul a small trailer around and have the luxury to haul stuff. I have however already smoked a 350z that wanted to run me on my economy tune.
it has an egr delete, a 58v ficm, new fuel injectors(oem), new headstuds, aef intake, 4 inch turbo back without a muffler, new nitto 35's, rhino lining and a few other small things.
yes it came with an edge evolution tuner
the tuner sucks but it monitors amazing
all of my body armor was purchased from xtremeterrain and its barricade armor
the lift on my jeep was a bds 4.5 with a 2 inch body lift
my dad even came into town to see it(hes the guy fixing my trailer lol and thats his 6.7 KR)
Yup the ol oil in the degas. If... And only if you are keeping the truck spend the money and get the BULLETPROOFDIESEL full bulletproof kit. Even if you have studs and a blocked/removed etc EGR system your ford gold coolant will plug up your oil cooler and cause you headaches at the min and what you see there as the more extreme. Good luck with the repairs I hope it gets all taken care of. I love mine and even though I have the means and the wife commander green light to get a new super duty I won't trade mine for nothing.
Good luck with the powerjoke. Have 2 7.3s and had an old 6.9. Never buying another Ford Diesel again. I've replaced banks of injectors three times already on my 03, and that's with the bullet proof kit put in. Piece of junk motor that never should have been put into production. You'll be back, once a Jeep owner always a jeep owner.
Wow, I didn't even have to say it…wish you would've done some research before you bought the truck. Those 6.0's are some of the worst motors Ford has ever built. Bulletproofit and you should be good to go. At least your buddy is footing the bill for you.
I researched and still bought my 6.0. And I'd do it again. What are the other options? Buy new? Cool, 60-70K for a pick up? I mean we all do have disposable income.. If we didn't we wouldn't have jeeps! But seriously. The interior, styling, ride and features are awesome. The 5r100 is an outstanding transmission and the VT365 is a tried and true engine IIRC is still in production for medium duty commercial trucks. The problem was the federal govt via the EPA FORCING all the emissions crap onto a good motor. It was never designed to be running an EGR system and at almost 350hp and 600ft lbs tq it smoked the other diesels on the market.
Now slap a tuner on that beast and you lift your TTY head bolts and blow a gasket. That is not fords fault but the users. On the other hand the EGR system entirely is! But as we all know those systems are excluded from the power train warranty and given a ridiculous 12-24 month joke because the mfg and govt know the systems suck.
OP, get that beast fixed and enjoy it. Just a reminder though when the HG are replaced get the heads check by a legit machine shop to ensure they are flat. good luck man

The EGR system was crap, the pressure regulator spring was crap, the injectors are crap, the fuel filters are crap and the coolant is crap. Buy a 7.3 and never look back.
Enjoy the truck man. Just keep up on maintenance and drive it!!
