I installed rock sliders the other day and noticed that one of the bolts comes through in just the right spot to catch your leg on. This bolt was covered on the drivers side with the plastic trim piece that covers the wires going to the back, but not on the passenger side. I decided to fix that before my wife caught her leg on it and I caught an ear full.
Here's the sliders I installed, though this problem could come up with any type that bolt into the tub, depending on where the holes line up.
I went to home depot and looked around for something I could use and eventually spotted rubber chair leg tips. They only came in a 4 pack, obviously, but were cheap. I also grabbed a few washers in the size of the bolts that the rock sliders used.
-Drilled holes in the center of the chair leg tips a size smaller than the bolts.
-Removed the lock nut off of the offending bolt.
-Threaded the chair leg tip with a couple washers on both sides of it to the bolt.
-Tightened the lock nut back on.
I don't really think it looks out of place in a jeep. It almost looks like it was on there from the factory, if I didn't know any better.
