Some delicious fluids......

Good afternoon guys,

2002 Sahara, 5spd, 4.0, 85,000 miles

i am still new to the jeep world and am trying to learn all i can.

I have noticed this to be a tender question but i would like some help on deciding which fluids to use....

Ive owned my jeep for going on 3 or 4 months, when i picked it up it was desperately in need of an oil change. I filled changed it with 10/30 mobil 1 synthetic. (lets not get started on the synthetic vs conventional argument).

i havent even looked at my differentials yet but this weekend i am going to be changing the fluid...... any recommendations?

i also will be changing the tranny fluid and transfer case... any recommendations again?

noob question.... which tranny and transfer case are in my jeep, and for confirmation the differentials are d30 in the front and d35 in the rear.... correct?

thanks again!

stay thirsty my friends.

Have you looked at the TJ/LJ Faq sticky at the top of the TJ section yet??

Your transmission and specs...

NV3550 - 2000-2004
* 5 speed manual
* Used with 6 cyl models
* 10 spline input
* 23 spline output
* Ratios:

1st - 4.01
2nd - 2.33
3rd - 1.39
4th - 1.00
5th - 0.78
Rev - 3.57

T-case... 231j standard on all non rubicon TJ's

Axles...Yes your front is a D30 stock the rear can be either a D35 or make sure just look at the diff cover.

Click on this link to see photos of the rear axles an ID yours....TJ/LJ axle Identification

I'm not getting into the fluid reconmendations...everyone has a different idea and they all think they are correct. So...My rec' fluid...hey it came in it.
