Make some spiderweb gussets to weld into a homemade bumper or something.

if you are good with CAD and have a good post processor to convert the drawing-- you are unlimited to what you can do with them.. We build them where I work..

I'm sure it could be. You need a creative mind, material, and mad skilz with AutoCad. The parts really won't make something "functional".....it's how you incorporate them. You can cut much more than steel with a water jet as well. Plastic, fiberglass, etc.....
3 reasons why a water jet may be chosen over plasma or oxyfuel is....no heat effected zones, no clean up of part, and they are much more precise.
Pretty cool to know that air, sand, and water can cut through steel like that.

I'd start with something simple, and with your own design. A license plate frame with some tribal graphics cut out? How about a rocker panel with a repeating pattern of diamonds and swirls cut out? A winch fairlead panel with flames shooting out.

Things like gussets are frequently cut into designs, but they also need to have some engineering to make sure they're strong enough to work right.
