98 Sahara. Factory sound bar no sound from rear. Fronts okay. Dome light works. Any ideas? Plugged in to back of radio okay. AM/FM/Cassette/CD, with equalizer and joy stick. Help please. I've checked the plug on driver side at sound bar. Was working before. Speakers still there.
With a post like that, I wonder how many potential helpers decided to just move along?
I'd start with the obvious. Check your fader, make sure it didn't accidentally get set to fronts only.
Unplug the harness on drivers side of sound bar and check for signal. If none, check for output at the back of the head unit. If no signal from head unit, your problem is there. If good signal from head unit, then trace the wires across the dash-down drivers side kick panel-underneath door sill-up roll bar.
I've even tried another radio head. Fader is set to both. It's the joystick radio. Both rears quit at the same time. Dome light works. Just no sound from rears. Is there another plug in under the dash besides the master junction?
Best thing to do is pull the radio out run new speaker wires straight to the speaker and test them again. If it works, then I would run new speaker wires from HU to soundbar.
Found a harness plug partially unplugged. Odd, because no one had been under there. Of course the high mount brake light managed to unplug itself on both wires under the tub. Gremlins?
