anyone done this to fit some 6x9s in there or anything different? i wanna see some pics. im puting the 5.25s in the dash soon. plates are on thier way. wanna do 6x9s somewhere and the soundbar is lookin good..
Hey tiger remembered :P What am i saying, of course he did.. look at his sig
I made my own sound bar that fits 2 6x9s and mounted the stock bar in front.
I have 2 sound bars now and i'd say its great. Keep in mind though you will never get the sound of a sub so i'd say just get 2 6.5s and get some nice shelf looking speakers that you can mount ON the dash and you should be good. If you want bass just get a sub and dont bother with making a 6x9s box. I have 2 boxes thinking they would make a difference but they both sound the same so.. one is sitting in my closet. Any one wants it.. pm me.. 20 bucks + shipping. 20 bucks is pretty much for the wood i used. The sound bar i'm selling has 3/4" wood instead of the 1/4" in the pictured one.
I have a soundbar designed for 6x9s as well. i need to use the polyfill on mine as well. For now I have 6x9 Cerwin-Vega's that sound pretty good considering they have been abused for 5 years in three different cars.
If the 6.5s aren't "cutting" it then you either have the wrong setup or really bad ears. With the short distance away from your head the rear 6.5s are more than enough to throw off your sound stage. I, for one, hate having the sound stage behind me. And that is exactly what you get with larger speakers in the rear.
If you want a better balanced setup then maybe you should look into a 4 channel amplifier and some better speakers for the dash. A good set of 5.25 components for the front will change your mind about what you want in the sound bar. Move the tweet up on top of the dash on the window A pillar and marvel at the better sound you get. It will "cut" it!
