Soundpod/footwell lights and underhood light?

My 03 TJ has sound pods with a dome light in each, and two smaller footwell lights below the dash. I noticed the drivers side was much brighter, and discovered that the drivers side was missing the lens and the bulb is exposed. The other lenses are pretty dirty/yellowed and I was curious if they can be replaced without replacing the entire light socket. But I'd be okay with that too if they were cheap. Also if anyone knows how to remove the lenses for cleaning/bulb changing I'd be grateful.

Also how does the underhood light activate? I searched but couldn't find a hood pin. Maybe the bulb is out but is there a secret to turning it on?

Most likely the bulb is burned out. If you pull the cover off you'll see how the "switch" works. Easy fix but...honestly it doesn't put out that much light.

The hood light has a metal ball inside it.
When you open the hood, the ball rolls down and completes the circuit, thus turning the light on. Same principle as a Mercury switch
Sometimes my connecting socket pops out, so it obviously doesn't come on but if it is connected and doesn't come on, I'd say the globe is FUBAR.

I'd ditch the covers... then you'll have more light...

from what I've read... pretty common for underhood light to malfunction...
I've seen them on eBaby (new) and was thinking about getting one for my wife's '02.
