Where is the fluid leaking from exactly? Could be you smashed your pan when you were off-roading (hence the noise) and the pan gasket is leaking. Might just be a simple fix. I would not drive it though until you figure out where the leak is coming from.

Is the hole in the pan? If so, I'd replace the pan and gasket, and add new fluid....maybe buy some protective plating while you're at it?

Let us know how you make out.

Hope it works out for you. Please let us know (if you can) the details of the repair and cost. It's good information to feed back to the collective knowlege base we have here.

Good Luck,

Oz

Hey man, where you live in MD? I would be more than happy to come take a gander at it for ya, and see if we can't fix it up right. Let me know. If its real bad, I can get penguin_in_a_cj up here to help out too

BTW, where did you two go wheelin' at?

Edit: Just saw your location. I am only about 25 mins from dirty burnie You could work on it here, but thats a long way up rt 100/29 with a busted trans. Let me know if you need an extra set of paws, and I will come down to you and see what we can do. I wonder if the leasing people would know if you were working on it, if we didn't jack it up, and just crawled under there and droped the pan real fast? Droping the pan and replacing a seal is only a 30 min job, tops. The only thing that would take some time, would be fixing a bent pan, or pluggin' a hole or something.

yeah i mean if i can work on it where you are i can make it its still driveable just dont wanna drive like really really far but as long as i throw some tranny fluid in i could make it there no problem im gonna need to problly flush out all the old fluid and replace a few seals but im thinking i might have to drop the tranny couldnt get away with that here because i think im leaking from my transfer case seal too its all seals no holes or anything that i can see its just a matter of getting to some of the seals just need somewhere to do it and a helping hand and maybe someone with a good set of tools lol all mine are at work and i dont have enouph stuff to drop the tranny

Aww damn man. I am sorry I didn't read this earlier. I usually check this forum in the morning when I get up, but I had friends stay over last night, and never did. I have a gasket scraper and torx bits in my house too Oh well, let me know if you get it all straightened out. I probably wont be able to help out untill sunday, but Ill try and work something out if ya can't get it.
