I know this has been asked like 1000 times but im feeling lazy and I don't feel like searching for such an easy answer.

There are a few people... but I wouldn't for long as the extra weight will end up killing the gate.

it can be done, but it isn't good for the tailgate. i've seen cracks on gate, and hinges from doing it, and i did it on my first yj for a long time, and it cracked the gate.

Ripcord, I believe you've been called.

But, I've been running 33 on steel on the stock carrier for about a year. No signs of wear/sag yet but that's my next mod.

Ok well I ordered my tires and rims yesterday and plan on putting the lift and everything on this weekend

I do plan on getting a rear bumper but my wallet took a hit so I am gonna be riding with it on the rear gate for a few months prob.

No my sig clearly says "Thats my favorite saying" it says nothing about "Hey my doors are off" duuuuur So...... I had just washed it so I had to get a pic with the doors on to show off the bling. When I get my lift and rims on I will be sure to take a pic with the doors off just for you O.J.

i run a 33 on the stock spare carrier. iv only had it on for 3 months. it only took a month untill it started squeking, and getting niosy.
when i first put it on i asked here about it, and someone replied saying they had a 33 on the stock carrier for a year and it came off when wheelin.

from what iv read, temporary is no problem, but dont plan to keep it that way for long.

if your cheap like me, you can look at the bestop tire carrier, which comes out with the tialgate. or the smittybuilt wich comes with a rear bumper and standerd swing out...i still havnt decided.

I run one on my old stock rim and its been fine. Tailgate feels a bit heavy but no probems so far.

What will fail first with a 33x12.50 or larger size will be the spare tire carrier bracket itself. They tend to crack at the flange the studs protrude from the spare bolts to. That's where mine cracked at and nearly failed before I discovered the crack. The tailgate itself seems to do ok with that size tire, it's the bracket that doesn't.

Well like I said this will hoefully be a temporary thing I know the Chrome has gotta go. So weather I am bumperless or whatnot I plan on doing something back there just not sure what yet.
