Spare Tire Carrier Replacement

My '02 Sahara came without a spare tire carrier and fifth wheel.

Any idea where I can pick up an OEM or similar spare carrier that will hold a 31x10.5x15? And, any clues on finding a replacement 15" wheel would be great.

The factory tire carrier is fine with a 31x10.5 tire. Post a wanted add in the classified section of the forum for the factory carrier...you shouldn't have any problems with finding one....a lot of jeepers remove them and install swing out tire carriers for larger tires. Most just have them sitting in the garage.

What type of wheels are you looking for? Factory or aftermarket?

Just the factory wheels that came with the Sahara. I think they're called Canyon or something? Five spoke, aluminum.

And I tried posting in the Wanted forum, wouldn't let me. =\

Do you have a picture of the wheels you have? The Sahara had several options on wheels and there are 3 different 5 spoke aluminum wheels available. If you have a picture or pull one off the introwebs I can tell you the name and full factory spec's.

As for the Wanted ad...you need 15 post to post in the classified section. In the Welcome message you just pm'ed me about there is a link titled "special rules" which apply to the classified section and the policies that go with it.

Factory Jeep "Canyon" wheel
Spec's.....
* 15x8 aluminum
* 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern
* Backspacing = 5.5"
---------------------------------------------

The wheel also came on the jeep XJ (cherokee) and the ZJ (grand cherokee up to 98)
You should be able to locate some in a local junk yard but not my choice to get wheels you don't know if they are bent or not.. Craigslist for you local area is a good first place to look as jeepers remove factory wheels to upgrade to aftermarket with less backspacing for larger/wider tires. Also...once you reach that magic "15" feel free to post a wanted add. .....out of personal experience it is around $20 to $30 to ship a wheel from the post office.

Shweet, thought so. I know they can hold up to a 10.5 tire, since that's what's on the four wheels I do have =P I missed out on a set of five in like new condition on Craigslist for $295 because I didn't have the money =\ I'll post up on the Wanted forum soon!

Watch craigslist for the wheel. I see Jeep wheels on the Idaho CL all the time.
