Spare tires going flat on OEM tire carrier (both 30x9.50r15 and 31x10.50R 15)

I'm just curious if anyone else's spares go flat (rather quickly) on the OEM tire carrier.

Both tires I've had mounted on the spare rack have gone flat, which leads me to believe that maybe the little bumps on the tailgate are separating the bead a little and letting the air leak out. its purely speculation, as maybe I have a gremlin that comes by and lets the air out of my spare.

Is this common? or am I just lucky?

My 30x9.50r15 spare has a cut and the aluminum wheel has a crack and would not hold air when mounted so I installed a tube (emergency use only) and it never needs air.

I noticed mine was pretty flat recently when I was checking all my pressures...seems to be holding air fine now, but those bump stops definitely push the sidewall in pretty tight so I could see them possibly helping a leaky bead leak a little faster...I wouldn't think they would have enough force to break the bead though, but I'm no tire expert.
