I have a trac lok limited slip in the rear. You don't want to fully lock the rear. Gets dodgy on the road and especially turns.

An auto locker would fully lock the rear? I wouldnt mind the rear, if i go fast on a uturn, loosing traction. I mean we have no snow. Very little rain. Soo thats y i asked on dry pavement would it fight the tire traction and get hurt?

I had a buddy that was locked up front and back. I remember him chirping his tires and making darn sure not to punch the gas in a turn.

Riding with a friend one day to gas station to get a bag of ice he has a auto locker in his rear end cops pulled in to fuel up as we were pulling out he reversed it out of parking spot cut it sharp with a loud chirp chirp chirp I thought that was funny how it got the cops attention...you know barking tires attract their attention lol

Loooool. Actually that would be fun. Soo basically tht the only thing which is chirp chirp and nothing more. No hurting the locker nothing. And if i would punch on a turn the jeep would turn into a crazy drifter probably.

There are a lot of crazy drivers in kuwait... and there are barely any traffic laws which are followed lol.. don't end up a rolled wreck on the side of the road that sits there for 3 months untouched... saw too many of those

Army work? Soo basically do you guys see anything wrong with putting an auto locker in the rear? Other than safety but mechanically and its a daily driver and mostly little bit highway so turn and uturns will be a big part. I have 33's and lets say a heavy foot.

LSD can act as a locker with a little brake pressure.. it provides power to the tire with traction.. if you apply a little brake pressure it will fool the lsd in a sense by making it think both tires have traction thus allowing both to spin regardless

Cheers...my front locker has been one of my best upgrades by far. Let us know how it works out.

I run a spartan in the rear of my YJ, it does fine on the road daily. I had to get used to it with smoother accel and decel. I usually just slip the clutch a bit more in the lower gears. I am running 32" tires and have a very low cog.

Like I said once I got used to how it would act I am a lot happier with it on road and off road it's amazimg. I think I am gonna run one in the front too. I can still tell it's there but... And yes it does clunk, or clack around corners.

Also just for FYI i usually run a max of 40-50 mph. No highway stuff at all just in town driver. Average about 15 miles a day.

I will have to check out the selectable prices. I dont doo much hardcore offroad but am planning a trip to jordan and to uae where there is some hardcore stuff todo soo. I might save my money and just leave the lsd in the rear. Iam thinking about it still. Thanks guys. I also might consider the yukon truetrac its expensive but a friend has it and its very quiet and no clunking at all.

If you have an lsd now you would have to replace the entire carrier to run the Spartan.
