Are you replacing the speakers or the head unit?

A quick easy way to check is to leave a little wire on the factory speaker so you can strip it back and use a 9v battery to pop the speaker (it won't damage them) if the speaker pops outward you have the positive wire hooked to the positive on the battery.

Do you use both wires and both terminals of the battery. Or do you use one wire at a time and touch the positive terminal of the battery

You'll use both, one wire to each terminal on the battery
